WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO INTRODUCE
TO ROLEPLAYING GAMES?
RPGs are tailor-made for everyone. And I mean everyone. RPGs come in all flavors and in a wealth of different complexities. You can find a system and genre that would suit anyone willing to sit down at the table. So I guess this day’s question is trying to get at someone or group of someones in a more specific fashion. While I’m not sure it would make a difference, I would like to introduce RPGs to the Fundamentalists and Christian Right that came after us in the 8os, during the “Satanic Panic”.
I honestly believe that, if they would be open-minded about it, the Anti-RPG crowd, that sees the devil behind every d20, would find just how special and creative roleplaying is if they would only sit down at the table and have a go at it. That’s a lot of “ifs”.
RPGs hearken back to playing “make-believe” as a child, something all of us experienced, but it quantifies it, gives it focus and meaning.
Honestly, RPGs, in the right hands, is a tool for healing, for fostering deep friendships, and for building bridges… RPGs are what you make them. It’s open-ended fun, all fostered by the imagination.
RPGs do not discriminate.
